default installation folder

Hi,
I changed the location of the programs folder in tweakui
and that didnt work, then i successfully used explorer to
move Program Files folder to another partition besides C:
and there are empty folders still left on C: but I'm
afraid to delete them. All the prior contents are now on
F: , so when i put a cd into the drive to install a
program, the default still pops up as the old C:program
Files. On win98, i was able to use tweak 1.33 and it
worked fine, but xp is so stubborn about this...how do i
get the default install to be F:\Program Files\...?

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Look in the right pane for the values CommonFilesDir and ProgramFilesDir. Double click each one and point it to the folder you wish.

Note: Editing the Registry correctly/incorrectly may have undesired results.
