Default Icons

Whenever I go in to "My Pictures" the files are displayed as thumbnails, this is starting to drive me nuts since I have so many files. Does anyone know how to change the default icon in a specific folder, so I don't have to go to the top and manually change. Please help me, although it is very trivial, it's starting to become quite a headache.

When you have a folder open go to "Veiw" at the top and set your
preferance. Under "tools" go to "folder options" to set the defaults.
