I'm a pretty experienced power-pointer, but one thing has
always eluded me. When you start to draw things the
default fill colour is always green. I once searched to
find a way to turn it to something I might actually use,
(like white or grey) but have never found a way to change it.

Is there a way, or is that hard-coded into the tool??

Thanks for any suggestions,

Ross.

Right click on the shape and select "Format AutoShape". Change the fill to
the color you want. Now, before you click okay, look at the bottom of the
window. See the check box for "Default for Future Shapes" (or some such
wording)? Click that. Now click okay. New shapes should pick up the new
fill.

The fill for your shape can also be influenced by your color scheme, but I
think what you are running into is the default thing, not a color scheme
thing.
