After running the latest Windows XP patches I can no
longer put in the default gateway and subnet mask
settings. When i now go to TCP/IP protocol proporties all
I have is the option of IP Address and the two DNS server
addresses. I need the other two to conect to my router.
Can anyone spread some light on this

Thanks in advance

When you go to TCP/IP properties for the local network
connection, can you list every single option there, and
whether or not anything is greyed out?

In the TCP/IP proporties window I have

Obtain IP address automatically or Use the following IP
address

and

Obtain DNS server address automatically or Use the
following DNS server addresses

Nothing is greyed out. Also my connection is named DSL
Connection broadband (WAN Miniport) and not local area
connection

Hi David

I solved it, I noticed in the device manager that my
network card would not start so I rolled back the driver
and it is working now

Thanks
