I have two xp computers. I now noticed their difference in font.
My questions are:
a) What is the name of the default fonts for WinXP pro?
b) Where and how to change the default fonts?

Right-click your desktop, properties, appearance tab, advanced button. You can change
just about anything.

This only means you can't change the desktop as it has no font, scroll to another
item such as message box.

Satoshi:
Mary is tops.
There are also font types in all programs. The main is in control panel,
fonts.
I hope this helps.

Hi Satoshi,

The System default fonts can be found here in the registry:
Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes

In the right pane, change the Font Name for: MS Shell Dlg and MS Shell
Dlg2.

Then right click the Desktop/Properties/Appearance/Advanced/
Icon and set the same Font Name there. Ok your way out, then reboot.
