Default folder action

Somehow the default action when I double-click a folder
is now to open up the "search" command. The order is
switched in the right-click menu. How do I change this?
I've already gone into control panel, and folder options,
file types, advanced, and changed the default action on
a "file folder" to "open", but the funny thing is that
the only actions for that were "open" and "explore". Am
I picking the wrong one? I'm confused. I also tried to
change the icon for all folders, and that did not work
also. I really would like to have my folders back to
normal. Suggestions???

Start - Run regedit.exe

Open to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
and in the right pane double click on (Default) and enter the exact four
characters
none

Repeat at
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell
