default file save folder

I was just wondering if there is a place to set the default
file save folder in outlook. ( similar to word ) where the
default save could be a mapped drive ?

Good question. Try making a backup of the desktop or Start Menu shortcut that you use to start Outlook and then view the properties of it and change the 'Start In' or 'Working Directory' folder to be the place where you want to save by default. I'm not saying that will work but it is worth a try!
