default email problems

Using tools -> Mail and News -> Read Mail is fine to open
Outlook express, but when using New message or clicking on
an email link, Netscape opens and tries to setup the
program (I don't use it). Under Internet options I have
Outlook express as the email program default. What is
going on?

Click [Start] [Run] and type this command:

"shmgrate.exe OCInstallReinstallOE" (For XP)

(with the double quotes and spaces)

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

And then make sure that OE is selected as the default mail program in both IE and OE.

"Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work Using Outlook Express as Default:

I was having the same problem and what I did was

uninstall Netscape and it fixed the problem when you
reinstall Netscape is you want to use it but if you don't
use it I wouldn't bother it takes space in your hard
drive. If you do use it when you reinstall it make sure
that you don't have it as your default browser or you are
going to have the same problem again.

I hope this is less complecated.
