Running XP, Outlook 2003, SBS2K3 domain, Exchange is not configured as
external mail server (still using ISP for email).
I have an "outside" mail account, an internal Exchange account and a Fax
account set up in Outlook. I set the default account to the outside (ISP)
account. Everything works fine. I restart the machine and it decides I
really wanted the Exchange account as default. I reset. I restart. Once
again it is determined that i really wanted Exchange as default. repeat
How can I convince the mail gods that I REALLY want my ISP account as
default?

You may have some corruption within the profile. Create a new profile and add your accounts. Test to
see if your ISP account can be set as the default.
