my mail button in I.E won't find my outlook express as my
default e-mailer. How do I fix this

Thanks for all your help

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/defaultl.htm

Go to Start | Run and type this command, with the double quotes and spaces:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

and then make sure that OE is selected as the default mail program in both
IE and OE.

If that isn't enough, see this article:
"Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work Using Outlook Express as Default:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098

You might also want to try this:

Restores OE to the E-mail clients list in Internet Options
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/oe_client.htm

To set Outlook 98, 2000 or 2002(XP) as the default mail client,- Go to
Start, Run - Type in the following with quotation marks and press OK
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
For more information on Outlook see:

Hi!

My problem is similar. I want to be able to change the default e-mail client
to Lotus Notes (network installation). I had local version of LN as the
default client - no problem there, but IE doesn't let me specify as the
default mail client the version of LN that I am running on server. Is it
possible to similarly tweak the registry to include LN in IE's list of mail
programs?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Janez

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

worked a treat for mine THANK YOU :-)

It didn't appear to do anything at all, (nothing happened when I put that
line into Run) but then Mailwasher Pro which hadn't recognised a default
email for the last two hours immediately OE up. Unless it was a fluke?
