I use Outlook Express for e-mail but have been unable to
link it with my browser. When I go to XP Tools/Internet
Options/Programs, there is no selection for OE or any
other program in the E-mail box even though OE appears as
the default for Newsgroups.

When I go to OE and make it the default mail handler
(apply button was pressed), it is subsequently identified
as not being the default mail handler.

I suspect the aboe two items are connected.

Any suggestions welcome.

Do you have another e-mail handling program like Microsoft Outlook (part of
MS Office) ? Mine took over as the default mail handler and won't let me
make OE default. This has not affected OE otherwise, so I stopped worrying
about it.

Hi Barry,

Click [Start] [Run] and type this command:

"shmgrate.exe OCInstallReinstallOE" (For XP)

(with the double quotes and spaces)

"msimn.exe" /reg
