default download settings

As you will know when ever you download something, a new window pops up and
asks you whether you want to save or open the file. At some time i have
obviosly clikced on open and then the little tick box saying always use this
option. Now but only for a zip file it always opens the zip file. I was
wondering how to change these options so i can get it back to normal where it
gives me the option of opening or saveing the file. Or either just to save
the file as i use this option more.

Many Thanks

1. Open Explorer
2. Click the TOOLS menu
3. Select FOLDER OPTIONS
4. Then select FILE TYPES tab

Locate the file type (extension), click ADVANCED and click EDIT.
Note the "confirm download" box. Check it.

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download"
option for that filetype:

Open Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Type tab
Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype click the
"Advanced" button.
Then check the option "confirm open after download".
