Folder Redirection

I have a setting in a Default Domain Policy set on
the .domain.com.au level of Active Directory. The setting
is a user configuration setting that redirects the
contents of users MY Documents to \\dc\%username%$\%
username%.

This is undesirable for me because I do not have the space
on the server. I want to switch this off but I want the
contents to shift back to My Documents in the local
profile of the workstation PCs.

Can anybody help me here. I want to know what impact it
will have on the data if i switch this setting off.

thx

I do know about that feuture....but I was wondering if I
had to remove the whole Defeult domain policy or just
disable that particular redirect feature. By Disbaling
the "redirect feature/setting" would the data come back to
the PC.

Tom,

As I am sure you are aware, Folder Redirection is
available to My Documents, My Pictures, the Start Menu,
the Desktop and Application Data.

For the My Documents redirection, there is the built-
in "Redirect the folder back to the local userprofile
location when policy is removed" option in the Settings
Tab. I would assume that you have the "Leave the folder
in the new location when the policy is removed" radio
button selected.

HTH,

Cary
