We have a Windows 2000 AD. I was planning on changing some of our audit
logging triggers; I attempted to edit Default Domain Controllers GPO. I
found that on both DC's I cannot open the Default Domain Controllers Policy
object with an error of: "Failed to open the Group Policy Object. You may
not have appropriate rights. Details The system cannot find the path
specified." I have verified that the "6AC1786C-016F-11D2-945F-00C04fB984F9"
file is in the sysvol folder with permissions for enterprise and domain
admins to have access. I have also with adsi edit that the file is properly
referenced. Within the Group Policy Management Console on my XP workstation
I am able to see the security settings that are enabled. However when I
attempt to edit I get the error listed above. Any ideas?
