default command for context menus -- somehow I altered it

If I knew what I did, I'd undo it. But I haven't yet been able to find a
reference to this at MS or in my help file.

Instead of "open" as the default, it is now "search". "Open" is still on
the context menu (right click) list, but now a left double click now opens a
search window in a folder. How do I change the default back to "open'?

TIA

oh, and the context menu I am referring to is the one that displays when I
click on a folder.

Durand,

Presto. It worked like a charm. Thank you very much.

(BTW, is there somewhere on the web where can I read up on using regsvr32?
I've been looking, but haven't yet found anything clear and comprehensive to
me).

Hi Albert,

It resets large parts of the registry back to factory conditions. This is
how Windows installs itself. It is how the original entry was placed into
the registry. Setup does a regsvr32 /i shell32.

Thank you Kelly
