default browser

how do I set up IE as my default browser (I've
inadvertently set up another one but want to change back
and have forgotten how...)?

Start/Run/[CMD for XP]. Type this command: REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL
Ok/Reboot.
Then go to: IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down to
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit. Under Application used to
perform action it should read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome
 
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Programs.
Check the box "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the
default browser"
Close IE and reopen it.
