Default Browser

I recently switched from Avant Browser to Firefox and set Firefox as my
default browser. I use Eudora Pro 3.1 for email and XNews for a newsreader.
Clicking links in either still brings up Avant. Firefox is still set as
default. There are no settings in Eudora or XNews related to browser
associations. Is there a way to fix it?

FireFox is a browser _only_, not a mail/news client. Thunderbird handles
that, as a standalone. Or install the Mozilla suite, which contains both.

That's all I intend to use it for. When I see a link in a newsgroup or
someone sends me a link in email, I just want the links to open in Firefox
