Default Admins Group & Admin User Account

Hi,

While logging in under Admin user in the Admins Group account, I did a
stupid thing by removing my Admin user account from the Admins Group account
upon creating some other new users with administrative rights.

After I exit and restart my Access, I realise I am unable to do any changes
to the users and groups accounts settings because these changes were done
using the Admin user while it is still in the Admins Group and I am no longer
in the Admins Group.

Will someone please advise how do I get my Admin user account back into the
Admins Group Account? Are uninstalling and reinstalling the only option?

Is there no other member of the Admins group? If not, then you can try (a) finding an older version of the .mdw file
(perhaps a backup somewhere) that still has the Admin user in the Admins group and working forward from there or (b)
opening the database while logged in as the Owner of the database (if it's someone other than Admin) and then granting
permissions as needed. The database Owner can always grant/revoke permissions; that privilege is irrevocable. Of course,
you have to know who the owner is ...

Did you create a new security file? Or did you just use the default System.mdw file as your workgroup? If you used
system.mdw, then you can just find and rename that file; Access will re-create it for you (assuming you're using A2000
or later).

Any member of the Admins Group can change users/groups. Someone must be a member of the Admins Group; Access won't let you leave that Group without membership. Furthermore, you shouldn't have Admin be a member of the Admins Group in a secure database. So login as a user that is a member of the Admins Group.
