DeepBurner has announced a beta 'Pro' version of their software:
http://www.deepburner.com/?r=news&id=32

From the page:
"This shareware version for commercial *and home* usage..."
(emphasis are mine)

This probably means no more free versions will be developed alongside
the Pro version, which is a shame because this was probably the best
freeware app in the CD / DVD burning category.

me, it sounds like they're producing a "pro" version alongside the

I agree with that. Their forum is divided into a "DeepBurner Pro" and a
"DeepBurner Free" part.

That would be sad.

Touting a "pro" version for "commercial and home" use isn't unusual:
it's what ZoneAlarm does -- constantly, if you enable e-mail
notifications -- but doesn't automatically mean cancellation of the
free version. (Maybe just additional features.)

Why not email the company and ask if the free version is to removed?

Another alternative is that free is :CDBurner XP :

Did you hear the one about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac?
He would stay up late every night and wonder if there was a dog.

Remove yourhat to reply ... but it may take a while.

I found it better handling the 4.7GB discs

I just invested in a cd burner ( I like to be right up there with the
times ), and it came with a copy of Nero Express ( a cut-down version
of the full Nero? ).

Does Deepburner knock the spots off it?

Regards,

It's called Babya CD Studio (uses XP's IMAPI engine, as I was
able to
find a way to access that in VB).

Not all of us are desperate enough to use XP.

Also Burb4Free and Burnatonce

I tried Deepburner a couple of times, but it seems so much less put
together and professional than BurnAtOnce ...
