Decimals places round up?

I have three number fields (pitch, width and thickness)in
a table (access 2000) that are all rounding up. I have set
the decimal places to 2 decimal places and tried the
format set to 'fixed', 'standard', 'general number', etc
but every time it rounds to whole numbers. Any one know
why?
 
Open the table in design view.
Select the problem field.
In the lower pane, change the size from "Long Integer" to "Double".

The Integer types can hold whole numbers only.
