Larry Sabo said:Why not use a file browser, e.g., My PowerDesk, which doesn't always
revert to icons like the MS Windows browser. Locate your Favorites
folder and use the browser to create subfolders beneath it, then just
drag your items to the appropriate subfolders. I customize the toolbar
to put "Create New Folder" at the top-left of the toolbar, for
efficiency. It's under Options> Customize Toolbar> File - Create
Folder.
The location of your Favorites folder varied by OS. In Win9x it's
under Windows; in Win2k and XP it's under Documents and
Settings/<username>.

this app doesn't impress me much. Why do you think Simple Bookmark is
the *best*?
<q>
Simple Bookmark 1.1 Freeware
Simple Bookmark converts your collection of Internet Explorer favorites
into a single HTML file, that can be opened by a web browser or even
used as a web page.

many out there but I haven't found a decent one that works on firefox,
opera, and ie.

I want to list the browers/shells I use and their paths and then be
able open a URL in any of the browsers from the right-click menu.
I want the manager to tell me when I have already bookmarked a URL and
offer to save it as an alias.
I want to be able to display (and edit) the bookmarks either as a tree
(folders) or in a sortable table (like AM-DeadLink).
I want to be able to search the file for names, URLs, keywords (need
to have a notes field). . .
I want to be able to check the bookmarks file using Xenu or
AM-DeadLink.
I want to be able to copy a group of URLs and paste them into an
email, post, text file etc.
I want to be able to import and export the bookmark file to
Netscape/Mozilla.
It would be nice to be able to create a web page from the bookmarks
file - with a folding tree structure - options to select/deselect
bookmarks for inclusion/exclusion.
What other things would a *great* bookmark manager do?
