New 2003 Server install, to be only a VPN and TS server. Trying to
get licensing-server up to make Term.Svcs legit before 120 day
witching hour. This 2000 server AD domain had it's primary DC die
last year. I seized services from the dead one (it wasn't coming
back) to the remaining DC which is now the solo DC. I then had to
(per QB#216498) manually remove the existance of the old DC from AD.

Well, now the 2003 Server, when trying to initialize TS licensing, is
looking for the long lost (former) DC, with no other options but
"cancel" when it can't find the now gone "\\Mainserver"

Hmmmm..... any ideas on how to get this new box to not do this?

thanks much.

A Windows 2003 TS can only use a 2003 TS Licensing Server. Have
you installed LS on the 2003 server (Add/Remove programs - Add
windows component)?
You should be able to install and activate the LS. If the TS than
still can't locate the LS (even if it is on the same server), you
can hardcode the address in the registry:

Thanks Vera!

Yup, I installed LS on 2k3 before my original posting: with the
symptoms as posted... so your links on overriding are very much
appreciated, I'll give that a try.
