Deactivate msconfig

After I used msconfig to resolve a problem and then specified normal
startup, it continues to appear on startup, with the message that I have
specifed a special startup. The KB suggests that when this happens, to
make sure all startup items and services are marked to startup normally.
They are, but the dialog continues to appear. I looked around in the
registry for something that might turn it off, but I couldn't spot
anything. Can someone suggest a way to turn off the msconfig dialog?

You really need to post this to the appropriate WINDOWS newsgroup rather

....and in that dialog box, I always see an option to not show the
message again...

Make sure on the General tab windows, Start normally is checked and that
all items are checked on the Startup tab.

If you do not want certain items to run on startup, you should remove the
entry from wherever it being started (e.g. use regedt32 to remove the entry
that starts them from the registry or remove the item from Start All
programs Startup group or from the load or run line of win.ini.)
