Deactivate Energy Save Mode

Is the "act" of deactivating energy save mode part of XP
or the brand of computer?

If it is part of XP, then how would I do this?

I have been told by Norcent (RW581 model) that the error
message that I am getting when tring to burn audio files
could be causing the error message (power calibration
error).

Any insite?

The following is from a post found on Google and is from a generic CD-ROM
support site:

Optimum power calibration failure. Recorder unable to calibrate laser power
for the disc. May be due to the disc itself; try another brand. If the
problem persists, have the recorder checked by its manufacturer.

It is in the section labled 'error messages in log files':

Power calibration area nearly full

This error message generally appears for one of the following reasons.

You have written on the CD several times and deleted it.
Please use new CD-Rs

it is possible that the APM (Energy saving mode) causes this error.
Please deactivate the energy saving mode.

Or one of the causes listed below Track following error is present.

This error message appears for one of the following reasons:

The CD Writer has problems writing on the CD-R/RW. Please resort to another
brand mark of CD-R/RW. Please ask the vendor of your CD burner for
recommended brands of CD-R/RW. You will also find information in problematic
CD-R/RW.
The power supply of your computer is not providing enough power.
You are using an external device. Please check the power supply and for test
purposes install the burner in the computer.
Numerous graphics cards require a lot of power. The same goes for numerous
CPUs and some harddisks.
