De-Activated USB Ports

I have un-checked the power savings feature for all of my USB ports in Power
Management and my USB ports are still being shut-down after a short period of
inactivity. Re-booting does cure the problem, but very frustrating. Can
anyone help?

Have you tried the Scan for hardware changes in the USB Controller
tree in Device Manager to see if the ports will be redetected?
