I am trying to install the latest drivers for my Ricoh
MP5125A DVD +RW/+R device but one of the first
instructions has me baffled!

It tells me to "De-activate DMA Mode". I've looked in
the properties of the drive but I'm unable to find
anything remotely like DMA mode. HELP!

The only drivers currently installed for this device are
those allocated by Windows XP Professional when I
installed the OS. I keep getting a "Buffer too large"
error when I try to use NERO (Latest version). This is
why I am trying to install the specific vendor drivers to
see if it will cure the problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Control Panel/System/Hardware Tab/Device Manager button. Right click the IDE
ATA/ATAPI Controller that the drive is attached to and select
Properties/Advanced Settings tab. You will see the DMA options there.

Go to Start, Help and Support and type in DMA. It will give you information
as to what it is and where it is.

Hi; In Device Manager look in:
"IDE ATA/ATAPI Controlers"
Expand and go to either the primary or secondary controler (depends on which
your Ricoh is using).
A couple of double clicks to expand the proper one then...
Look at the top taps: Properties
Master or Slave position depending again.
