does anyone know if this will work?
ie.. i have 512MBDDR memory on my pc / motherboard
if i get a video card that has specs of 512DDR2 memory
will it still work?
thanks!

Since I don't think anyone else will be gracious enough to respond to such a
simple question, I guess I will. Using the video card will not be a
problem, the memory used on a graphics card has no effect on the memory used
on the motherboard. Although it is sad that your video card will now have
the same amount of memory that your motherboard does.

thanks Stephen, again for your replies :)

yeah i know, its sad, but its a slow process upgrading my pc
so i think the video card was the most important part,
next will be the RAM

thanks again for the reply

Honestly, though, 512MB on your video card is likely overkill. I'd suggest
getting a faster 256MB card for the same money.

really? hmm
does it effect the fact that i like to do alot of graphics / video work on
my pc?
i havnt commited to anything yet so apperciate the feedback!

thanks

If by graphics and video, you mean photography and video editing, then any
decent 32mb card would be more than enough. Neither application uses much
memory on your graphics card. Really the only application that does is a
good game.
