Can anyone recommend a good resource for information on dual-channel
configurations? I'm particularly interested to know if most MBs support
dual channel for all four slots, or only two.

I found a handy chart on Intel's website, which also includes an
explanation of when you get dual channel action and when you don't.
However, it seems a little ambiguous on some configurations. I'm
wondering if you can have different capacity sticks in each channel.
For instance, could you have 2 256 MB and 2 512 MB sticks and still
get dual-channel? If so, do you put them in the "symmetrical" position
(256 in slot 0 and 512 in slot 1)? Or the "same channel" position?
