DDR and DDR2

I assume I cannot have im my memory slot one SDRAM DDR chip and SDRAM DDR2
chip altogether? Am I right?

Yes, you are right.

You need to use the correct RAM for your motherboard. The memory finder tool
on the Crucial.com website is extremely useful for determining what RAM you
need. Your motherboard manual will also have this information.

They are physically different where they plug into the motherboard, not
swappable/interchangable.

If you physically overlap a RAM module of DDR and DDR2 on a flat surface,
one can physically see the difference where they plug into the motherboard.
 
Thanks Malke and Dave. Off topic now, I sympathise with your signature
"Confront and fight Obama zombieism" although I am not american and not
racist (I even like Obama) i understand all this circus created around him.
No doubt he seems a fair, right and intelligent man, but like you wrote,
zombieism is the right word for what was put up in all his campaign thru the
US during and before the elections.
