Verify that this machine is pointed to a good win2k dns server in that
domain Only for dns. If its pointed to other addresses as well, remove them
and then run the following commands; "ipconfig /flushdns" and then "ipconfig
/registerdns"
If dns is working properly, you should be able to ping the FQDN (xyz.com
etc) as well as other machines in that domain (machine1.xyz.com).
Try to open your other snapins ADUC, sites/services, etc and see if they
open or if you also get an error there, and if so, if it is the same as the
one for domains/trusts (they can be a little different and important to note
the differences). Also see if you are able to open your domain or domain
controller security policy.
Errors opening those things can be different, and its important to get the
exact error syntax you see as well as any event errors you see in the logs,
to know where the problem is.
