We have 2 DCs in a lab environment that are getting numerous errors. Would it be better to wipe the drives and reinstall Win2k server or just dcpromo both servers down and try again. Right now Im leaning towards wipe because dcpromo wont even work, I keep getting an access denied error.

Any thoughts?

Generally my thought is to figure out what the problem
is. That is if you have the time. That way if you ever
run across what you see in the lab you can fix it without
too much headache.

Well, we've spent about a week trying to solve the problems but we have gotten no where and we're shooting to have Exchange 2000 up and running in about 6 weeks. Or better yet, I should say my manager is shooting for that. Problem is non of our windows people are really uptodate on AD so we're learning together. I am more use to working on our Unix servers. Anyway, one thing that has caused us problems was when one of our windows administrators locked us out of our PDC, that was fun! In the process of trying to resolve the problem the default GPO was deleted and now the BDC is always complaining that "Windows cannot query for list of Group Policy Objects...". So, basically Ive decided that if we cant solve any errors by tomorrow we will wipe the systems and try again.
