Hello,
I was recently trying to remove a test 2K domain and add the server back
into our "primary" domain.
The dc in question was upgraded from an NT4 pdc to 2K. When I did the
dcpromo and selected remove last domain controller from the domain it then
goes on to ask you for an enterprise administrator account for the domain ""
strangley leaving the name of the test domain out. If I enter the correct
account information into the text boxes the dcpromo complains that the
domain is invalid/cannot be contacted.
Can anyone help me? As it is the only dc in the test domain it is running
DNS server with forward and reverse lookup zones.
Not to pushed with actually removing the active directory on it. What I
really want is to get rid of the test domain entry in the domain list in the
windows logon box. If I can do that I will just wipe the machine and forget
all about it.
Thanks,
