The event log has a warning:
EventID: 1009
The event log has a warning:
Description:DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer xxxxx using any configured protocols

What causes this?

I'm getting the same errors in my System Event logs just before I get a auto reboot from a bugcheck. I'm not sure what is causing this either but if anyone has a knwon fix that would be great. I'mm off to search TechNet more.

I'm a VPN user and not always connected to my employers network. The event error 10009 seems to be complaining that my workstation cannot connect to the domain controller. I get about 10-15 event log errors about this and then a reboot with a bugcheck and savedump event.

Post the dump. Can access the cause, but have to have symptoms and facts.
