Hello,
I have a server that runs our Backup Exec application that
is getting a DCOM error regularly in the Event log. The
error is "DCOM got error 'Class not registered' from the
computer <name> when attempting to activate the server".
The event ID is 10006. I've attempted to locate this
error in the knowledge base, but everything I've come
across explains that the error has to do with MS Exchange,
which we are NOT running on our network. The only other
explanation I found in the knowledge base that references
that Event ID explains that the error is occurring because
the remote machine, running NT4.0, needs an install. None
of the remote machines in the error messages are running
NT. They are all W2K Advanced or W2K servers. Any help
would be appreciated. Thank you.
