I have two machines networked by crossover that can
connect fine with fixed addressing. Normally the WIN XP
machine is an ICS host, and a WIN Me machine is a
client. Problem is, now, the Me machine cannot find the
DCHP server.
I have:
- connected by fixed addressing to test hardware,
- disabled all firewalls on the host,
- reset the TCP IP stack using "netsh int ip reset
resetlog.txt" off the Knowledgebase,
- re-run the wizard,
- release and renew connection with winipcfg on "Me" does
not help, nor various attempts at re-start,
- checked Event viewer on XP (host)upon start-up, no
issues seen,
- checked services - DCHP Client is running, stopped and
re-started,
- tried an earlier restore point.
Any ideas please?
Thanks
