Hi Peter
The .dot extension usually means the file is a template, maybe for Word. But
DC54.dot is not one of the standard templates distributed with Word, so it
may have been installed with some other program or sent to you by someone
else.
Before you do anything else, have your antivirus program check it for
possible infection. If it's clean, then
- Open Word, look in Tools > Options > File Locations, and find out which
folder is listed as your User Templates folder.
- Restore the DC45.dot template to that folder.
- Use Word's File > New dialog to base a new document on that template.
If it's something you recognize and need, then keep it. Otherwise, throw it
back into the recycle bin.
