Greetings--

We are moving a w2k application server to a new location and the problem is
that the new location does not have a dc. I'm looking to add a server to
that location, but of course am working with diminishing monetary funds. We
have a single domain--w2k-- in a single forest. The new location would only
host about 6 employees, but could increase to 12. The only requirement of
the dc would be to process logons and handle name resolution. The location
currently has a netware box to handle f & p. Looking at the min requirements
for 2k3, it lists: 550-mhz processor, 256 mb ram, 2 gb disk space. Of
course, adding as much memory as possible is ideal.

Any thoughts?

The requirements seem fine although you may want to rethink the disk space...consider microsoft updates and logging (if you use it) as it will eat your space away, especially if you keep the files to uninstall patches, etc.

RE: Disk space...I'll get at least 72 Gb.
Thanks,
