Do i really need Dynamic updates since i have only one DC
and DNS server,on the same machine. If you read my post
about netdiag and dcdiag problems you will see its not
reg. i also deleted _msdcs ,stupid move i know but every
one has told me what to do and still not recreateing
_msdcs file, i even recreated the dns server itslef, not a
uninstall just deleted and recreated. So if i have one DNS
server why does it need to do Dynamic updates, since my
clients use static IP's. Am i thinking wrong about it?

Ok...DHCP is running,i have no scope since i use static
IP's,im thinking that would be right. in server
options, which im not sure if i should have done this i
configured my DNS server and router. does ths help?

i will keep in the same thread, sorry

Not the DHCP service, DHCP Client. DHCP Client is the service that populates
DNS record from clients. When you restart the net logon service do you get
anything in the event viewer?

I get no events in the event viewer, does tell you
anything,im trying to follow along but dhcp client,is in
services and is running there, which i assume when i do a
net start it starts to.

Ok....sorry i did get a net logon error,say this

The following DNS server that is authoritative for the DNS
domain controller locator records of this domain
controller does not support dynamic DNS updates:

DNS server IP address: 206.171.94.2
Returned Response Code (RCODE): 4
Returned Status Code: 9004

USER ACTION
Configure the DNS server to allow dynamic DNS updates or
manually add the DNS records from the file '%SystemRoot%
\System32\Config\Netlogon.dns' to the DNS database.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

now that 206.171.94.2 IP i have no idea where it came
from,my ISP is a 24.x.x.x subnet. does this help you any?

Your domain is the issue, the IP you gave me earlier is registered to
port.com. 206.171.94.2 is the primary name server for that domain. This is
what you need to do.
a.) Demote your DC and bring it up in a different domain like port.jay You
will lose your domain accounts but this will cure your issue.

so im having conflicts i see, now that makes total
since, hey also what does this mean, when only some things
are applied in GPO to users, see i have GPO setup at OU
level with users in the OU only somethings are denied as i
specified like they cant get to tcp properties but i
denied them right click properties on my computer icon
too,but they can still do it,why would that be...?

thanks your been a big help!!!
