DblClick an app brings up the Windows installer?

Hello all..
just did a complete new clean install of XPPro, and now when I click on a
couple of apps (like Spyblaster for instance) it ALSO opens up the windows
installer for Office. I can just cancel same, and then the app does
open...but why?
