my dbase has reached the size of 17 megabite, it became
very heavy and I wonder if someone can advise and help to
solve the oversized application, how and where I went
wrong.

I know my dbase expands a few MB now and then,

In access, if you click on the menu: tools>database utilities>compact and
repair

This might reduce the file size by a couple megs. backup before you do
though.

I do this every couple of days or so

Have you tried compacting it?

Tools ... Database Utilities ... Compact and Repair

A well designed Access database can be several hundreds of MBs before it
appreciably slows down.

17 meg is small for Access. However you may want to repair and compact
the database. Depending one what you have been doing, you could get it to
less than a meg.
