In general, you should not Repair unless you have to.

As for Compacting, just see how much it grows over time. If it grows 3 bytes
in 6 months, you do not need to compact it at all. If it grows 90Mb in 3
hours, you'll have to compact it every few hours. Simple, no?

Note also that there are some advantages to compacting the database, over &
above just making it smaller. So personally, I like to compact the database
at least every few months, regardless of its rate of growth.

that a good idea. This database will be used on terminal services and
sometimes transferred via PC Anywhere.

How often or should I consider periodic compacting of the dbase?
