day of the week

I would like to show a date as the day of the week
(Monday, Tuesday....)I do necessarily need it in the same
cell. Is there a function of format in excel to do this?

Assume the date is in cell A1. In cell A2, for example, put the formula:
=A1. Now format cell A2 with Format | Cells... | Number | Custom | "dddd"

Or -for "everything in one cell", custom formats like
"dddd mmm d. yyyy"

though you do give her the flexibility to expand her horizons without having
to come back to the NG

Having said that, there is no indication that what she has been given
already has answered her question
