O

old aussie

I have seen were the actual day, date and correct fly in to the first slide.
Can someone help me with this.

Thanks

John,
I thank you for answering,I think I did not explain this correctly, what I
want the time and date to do is change when you open the slide to the actual
date and time upon opening the first slide, so regardless of when the
presentation is made it is today's date and time.

Pardon me for butting in. One question, please.
It won't keep the right date & time if the recipients are in different time
zones, would it ?
Ex. I am in Eastern Standard Time. I set the date and time accordingly. I
mail it to West coast. Recipient there will be looking at the wrong time.
Right ?

I do believe that it will take the system time regardless of the location.

Just received a reply from recipient in Huston which is 1 hour behind. The
pp is showing MY time.
I have not tried changing my PC time zone yet. It beats the purpose if I do.
I have alumni in 4 different time zones. I was hoping the auto-changing will
also make adjustments at different destinations.

Yes. I sent them pps, not ppt.
Oh, I just sent them one-slide PP for testing only. I also told them it was
not a virtual clock, and it wouldn't change time if they left that slide on
screen.
I am sure you don't mean that it will make adjustment if there are more than
one slide in the presentation.

Further update :
I sent it out to 2 recipients. Result : it does not work at all. I don't
mean it does not keep right time. I mean it does not keep time at all. It
does work perfectly on my machine. another one of those .

Before I do that ( send you a copy ).....
An update :
Recipient from New York City, USA (same time zone), said it works.
Recipient in Houston, USA (one hour behind) said it did not work. I then
re-send one embedded in a presentation. Same recipient said it worked, but
did not register changes in seconds as she click to change slides. It did on
my copy.
Recipient in Hong Kong, China (12 hours ahead), said it did not wok. I had
re-send one embedded in a presentation. Awaiting his reply.
