I am exporting a table to fixed width txt with an export specification in
Access 2003.
My table has two dates that are date/time in the table design.
My export specification has the following:
Date Order MDY
Date Delim <blank>
Time Delim <blank>
Four Digit Years yes
Leading Zeros yes
Decimal Sym .
The sample export shows both fields correctly as mmddyyyy (which is what I
want), but the txt file that gets created has one date as mmddyyyy and the
other date as mm/dd/yy (because I am limiting this to 8 characters).
This is no formatting to these dates prior to the export, field properties
identical throughout. Looking at the raw data in the table, both fields are
in the format: mm/dd/yyyy.
Why would the two date fields be treated differently when the export sampe
is correct?
