Jason

I've been having a problem when I cut and paste a Chart
from Excel (MAC version) into a Power Point slide on my PC.

The Chart looks fines except the Dates all change. For
example one column date is 10/02/2002, when it's pasted
into power point the date changes to 10/01/1998.

Does Anyone know whats going on here?

Thanks!

(I'm using the newest version of Office XP on the PC and
the newsest version of Excel for Mac)

Mac's and PC's in Excel use differrent date systems. One stores dates
starting at Jan 1 1900 and the other (I think the Mac) stores dates
starting from Jan 1 1904. Yup the mac version is 1904.
Switching can be done under Tools + Options + Calculation tab and
check the 1900/1904 checkbox to get back in sync.

I don't have a clue why they use different systems but there is some
very solid reason.

Thanks! What a helpful feature! Is there a way to make
this the default setting for the Mac version or do you
just have to change it every time?

Jason,
It should be an application level setting, which would mean if you
changed it, it would stay changed when you re-opened Excel again.
