date/time function

My date/time function in W2000 doesn't keep nearly the
right time (sometimes saying it is the year 1600 and
sometimes just a few days or hours off), and resetting the
clock doesn't work. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.
 
If this is happening every time you start the PC up, I would say the
battery for your BIOS is dead. Get the manual for your motherboard and
see what battery is required, buy one, remove the PC cover and replace it.
 
I am having the same issue though I dont turn off my
computer so I dont think it is a battery problem.
 
It is most likely a problem with the battery.
