I have a large project to do fo r work and haven't the slightest idea if I
am on the right track. I am looking to put together a contact management
system that stores customized personal information files. I need to be able
to sort the data fields to produce reports as well as keep track of the
dates of contact. It is going to be used as a type of recruiting tool.
Other things I need to accomplish are:
Create queries and grab contacts that meet certain criteria and then grab
their contact information and either email or post mail data to them.
After the contact is there a way to quickly keep track of the date and
purpose of this contact?

I have a long but simple grouping of relational tables already set up in
access, but have had to manually export the contact information to outlook
to do my correspondences.

I want to make this as simple as possible, do you have any suggestions as to
a where I should go next? Stand alone products or add-ins??

Pretty urgent seeing as I want to impress the boss.

Check www.mvps.org/access for information about sending
emails from Access. It can be done, and quite easily, but
does require some VBA code.

As far as date stamping, I would have a table to store
each time you talk to a contact. Include a Date/Time
field, and set it's default value to Now(). Then when you
enter a communication, it will automatically put in the
time you contacted that person.
