No, because the backup tool actually creates a copy of the data file, but
names it backup.
And why would you want to have multiple 'backups' by date? The 'backup'
contains all data as of the backup date, so if you created a backup in
November, December's backup contains all that was there in November (Other
than what you deleted)
The tool should'nt be confused with a 'normal' backup application that can
create incremental etc backups
I have installed pfbackup.exe for Outlook 2003 and XP Pro.
I find that it overwrites the backup file each time. Is it possible to
have date stamped backup files?
It makes no sense to run an incremantal or any similar type of backup on a
pst file, because whenever outlook opens/accesses a pst file it is marked as
changed even if nothing is added/removed from it.
The pst is a single file, having backups by date on the file makes no sense
other than for recording what you perminently deleted from it.
Personally, anything I perminently delete I view as junk and as such there
is no need to backup or keep a record of junk mail.
I do run archive, to yearly archive files, these together with the current
data file are all backed up via the backup addin, and other methods
I prefer to have two backup files and swap them each time PFBACKUP runs so
that when PFBACKUP is creating the PST copy it doesn't overwrite the most
recent backup. I click the Options button and enter the name of the second
newest backup file. If you wish, just enter a date stamp in the file name.
