I'm looking for a small free program that will always display the current
date in the sys tray. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for a small free programme that will display, in Systray,
the number of Maltesers I've eaten this afternoon.

I prefer Kana Reminder 2 for this:

You need to modify the ini file to have it display the date. It works
great for reminders too - I've been using it for a couple of years. I
have mine configured to display the date in blue if I have no reminders
for the current day and red if there are reminders.

You can do that from Windows. Control Panel->Regional and Language Options.
Go to the date and select the format you want.

I used to use TClockEx ... until I found TClock. It's much more
configurable. I can set any number of date/time formats, adjust the font. I
can even split the date and time onto two lines of text, so the tray area
doesn't get too wide.

Google finds it at http://homepage1.nifty.com/kazubon/tclock

I'm using version 2.2.8

Works on 9x, 2000, XP

Strange, for me it was the other way around, I found TClockEx more
configurable than TClock.
The only thing you describe that TClockEx can't do is the splitting in 2
lines. However a fixed width can be set.
Does TClock allow you to customize tooltips and show CPU-usage and RAM-
usage ? If that's the case I might want to check it out again.
