What would make this expression =date() not work in a front end/back end
situation on the other computers using the Auto FE Updater? It works on my
computer but not on the other computers using this updater.

I use the updater to put copies of the database on the other computers. My
copy works just fine but the copies made by the updater do not recognize
this terms being used in queries, report, forms, etc. Terms not being
recognized =date(), =trim, chr. I decided that somehow this FE is corrupted
since Access is not recognizing its own terms, so I used a backup of the FE
and now it works fine. Does that sound like what happened??

sounds like a possibility.

This is a classic problem where the file has a reference in it that does not
exist on the target PCs and should have nothing at all to do with the
updater.

Are you saying you can copy your master file to these other computers
manually and the same problem does not occur?
